Description: Home Obedience I is a 6-week class for handlers and their dogs to learn how to live happily together and to explore the many areas of dog ownership. Skills, such as sit, down, come, stay/wait and walking on a loose leash, are interspersed with tricks, games and puppy agility. You will quickly realize the more you interact with your dog, the more he/she will want to obey you. We offer plenty of on-leash socialization with other people and dogs and use positive rewards like praise, food and toys. Grooming, teeth brushing, health tips, healthy food and treat ideas are also part of the curriculum. Attention will be given to working with each team on their individual needs and to answering their specific questions. Homework will be sent to you weekly via e-mail to reinforce what has been done in class. Let us help you turn your dog into a well-mannered pet. Sign up today by simply clicking on one of the Obedience Class Registration Forms at the bottom of this page.

Note: During this time of concern about COVID19, you must sign the Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability Form (attached to Registration Form). You will also be asked to have only one handler present, and you will be required to wear a mask at all times while in the building.

Also during this period, class size may be limited, and the time of the class may be shortened from the normal one hour to 45 minutes.

Prerequisites: For dogs 9 weeks and up.
